Eilat,between desert and sea

Between the Eilat mountains and the Red Sea, Eilat invites you to experience everything: calm waters, unique coral reefs and desert hiking trails. Everything you need for a stay that combines relaxation and discovery, a short drive from your house.

IThe place

Desert at your back, the gulf in front

There is something particular about this meeting of desert and sea. On one side the Eilat and Edom mountains, with the desert landscape and colours that change through the day, and on the other the gulf of Eilat, with clear water, beautiful beaches, and coral reefs within easy reach.

The meeting of sun, sea and desert is part of what makes Eilat what it is. A morning that begins facing the gulf, a whole day on the beach, and a quiet evening facing the mountains.

Everything you need in order to feel a little far from it all.

IIThe road

A road with a story of thousands of years

Long before Eilat became a resort town, this region was an important crossing between the deserts of Arabia, the Red Sea and the Mediterranean. At Timna, copper was already being worked thousands of years ago, and merchant caravans passed between the mountains on their way to the ports and the trading cities.

The history is still there in the landscape. The roads that wind between the granite mountains, the open country and the nearness of the sea tell the story of the place, long before the hotels and the promenades arrived.

IIIThe reef

A whole world under the water

One of the things that makes Eilat singular is the world just beneath the surface. A short drive from the centre of town is the Coral Beach reserve, one of the northernmost reefs in the world, with clear water, remarkable coral, and a great variety of colourful fish.

There is no need to sail far to enjoy it. It is enough to step into the water in the places where swimming is allowed, with a mask and a snorkel, and find a remarkable underwater world right off the beach.

Whether you dive, like to snorkel, or simply want a beautiful beach for the day, this is one of the experiences worth keeping in a holiday in Eilat.

IVThe day

Every moment of the day has its own charm

In Eilat, each hour of the day brings a slightly different feeling. The morning begins with a gentle sun, a quiet sea and desert air, a perfect time to go to the beach, walk in the mountains, or have a coffee facing the view.

At midday, when the sun is at its height, there is nothing like returning to where you are staying, cooling off in the pool, or simply resting in the air conditioning.

And as the sun begins to drop, Eilat takes on an entirely different feeling. The mountains turn warm colours, the breeze is kinder, and the terraces and courtyards become the perfect place to end the day.

That is the charm of a holiday in Eilat: nowhere to hurry, and every moment to enjoy.
